To Love is To Listen

A leader who is loved, loved his people first. This is an important aspect of leadership. When people knows and feels that you really care for them, they will listen to you and will follow you everywhere you go. One important thing that you should learn is listening, many people love to talk, a few are good listeners and observers. When people talk, take note of their dreams, their fears, the things in life that they value the most, things that make them laugh, happy, sad, cry and mad. These are very important in establishing bonds with your key people or customers.

When I was beginning my career as a realtor, I came across a book of Harvey Mackay entitle “Swim with the sharks without being eaten alive” and there I learned that I should learn as many things about my customers by having a customer profile interview sheet which I have used successfully in my career until now. And I practiced the art of listening and the Chinese saying that goes like, less talk less mistake, no talk no mistake. When your child is talking do you listen? You should, listening makes your child feel loved just as other people do. When you’re listening attentively and with your heart, they feel like they are the most important people in the world for you at that time and they will always remember that moment because very few people are good listeners. Very few leaders indeed.
